This cabin which is in the El Dorado National Forest, bordering Emerald Bay State Park, was once an artists' retreat. It has three bedrooms, a large living room, and an unfinished basement/workshop. Full insulation and central heating make the house usable all year round, and it is big enough for a family to stay there all summer. From the front door you can walk to Emerald Bay and Vikingsholm, or hike to Eagle Lake and the Desolation Wilderness Area. Alternately, stay home and enjoy the beauty and privacy of the surrounding forest; with good views of the lake, and diverse birds attracted to the year round ponds visible from the deck. In the winter, ski or snowshoe from your front door. Good kayaking sites are nearby (and three kayaks are included). Recreation Residences can't be primary residences nor can they be used as rentals.
